I'm Jennifer-Megan, founder of ThinkingPower Hypnotherapy and Coaching. ThinkingPower blends deep educational experience with powerful, therapeutic tools.
During my teaching and SENCO career of nearly 30 years, I have had the privilege of working closely with many, many parents and children, in a very wide range of schools.
Sometimes the children had times of heightened stress and anxiety. It was so important to work together. I liked to be a bit different in school, and I almost always had a puppet or a magic trick with me to lighten the mood and make the children's learning more fun and memorable!
As SENCO, I also worked together with my school colleagues, other school SENCO colleagues, and with a range of Professionals such as Educational Psychologists and Specialist Teachers. I applied for and reviewed many EHCPs. (Educational Health Care Plans). I was continually learning more and more, but I keep on feeling that something was missing for me, something else we could be doing to help.
Then when I had a particularly horrible time in my life outside of school, I personally discovered the immense power of NLP and Hypnotherapy. Suddenly I had the tools to switch on feelings of calm and thinking clearly. It felt amazing! I felt that this could be the missing link. I have been training and learning more and more about this ever since!
I am now exploring new ways of helping children, teenagers, adults and families, by drawing on everything I have learned over so many years, together with my training in NLP, Hypnotherapy and Relaxation techniques. Together, these allow me to offer calm, thoughtful support that helps people not just understand what’s happening, but begin to feel and respond differently. I help parents and children to learn how to clam the nervous system, interrrupt unhelpful thought patterns, and gently rehearse new ways of responding. Much like a sports coach helps an athlete before a race, we use imagination and guided techniques for conversations, routines and challenging moments, so you feel more prepared, more relaxed, and less reactive.
By breaking stuck patterns and creating new calmer responses, families can move away from constant triggers, towards more peaceful, confident and connected family life.
